Hello Doll.

Man, time is zooming by!

Well, I guess it’s about time we shared your NAME with your friends and family… we will name you:

“LAKE  JENKINS”

Yes, your name is quite different and probably rare, which we are okay with.

There is a little bit of story behind your name…

Daddy always liked the name “Blake” for a girl. I think we talked about it for Edie, but I didn’t quite like it.

We love(d) the show: How to Make it in America and the cool lead chick happens to be named “Lake Bell.”

So we thought about dropping the B{LAKE}… in the name Daddy liked and there it was: LAKE

AND THEN there is the relationship between you and Lake Tahoe, but that’s a story you will NEVER want to hear… so I’ll skip that part. 😉

After many connections with this name we put in our “names we like” list, but I guess Parx overheard us chatting about it and…

next thing we knew Parker was calling you, “Baby Lake.”

So, Lake just stuck! Plus it really is fitting!

Pierson wasn’t crazy about it at first, but I think it’s growing on him.

Let me add that “Lake” is not easy to find a middle name for… because with certain names you start sounding like a hole in the ground filled with water LAKE, rather than a precious little chick-a-dee named Lake.

I have a name in mind for your middle name, but it could lead you to becoming a hippie… which isn’t a bad thing. 🙂

I have not been doing a great job sharing a week by week update, but that’s okay!

Who needs that much “Mommy” blogging anyway?

I am so grateful we’ve been eating healthy!

We’ve been having lots of salad, green smoothies, beets, and water!

I have to buy the Ozarka bottles to easily chug water all day long.

Lame, that I spend money, but I know it’s the best way for me to keep us super hydrated!

We saw Donnelynn last week and were measuring well! I think we’ve gained almost 20lbs… wowzas.

 

Daddy and I had a lovely Valentine’s dinner (the same day these photos were taken)… minus your siblings.

I LOVE dating your father, those nights are some of the best nights of my life.

We went to Ellerbe and I had some braised brisket laying on a bed of mustard greens and cheese grits.

Oh girl’fran – I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Daddy also gave me a beautiful dress and necklace from Banana… with a note that said:

Oh he makes me smile.

Holding up that cute little dress to my round curvier bod makes me think I may never be able to fit into it! 🙂

I want you to start prepping for nursing NOW so you can help some of those calories slip off easily, okay?

 

I will start seeing the chiropractor this week. I should have already been going to see him to get everything alignd and relieved!

I got a birthing ball last week, we are talking to post partum doulas to come in and assist in our home and would like to hire a doula for Placenta encapsulation {don’t judge peeps, it is VERY beneficial}. 🙂

Doing all of this stuff means… you are not far from entering the “real” world and joining our family! Eeeek.

I love that Pierson and Parker know everything about you and Edie just ADORES my belly.

She kisses it anytime she can and pokes the bellybutton many times a day, she’ll even belly bump ya – her belly pressed up to mine.

I hope she enjoys your presence, once you arrive. She’s becoming quite the jealous type, when it comes to Mama.
